New 3DMAG Position Sensor From Allegro Microsystems Supports Next-Gen Automotive ADAS Designs

The A31315 sensor has the performance and accuracy required to meet ASIL-D requirements.

The newest member of the 3DMAG family of magnetic position sensor ICs, the A31315 sensor, was released by Allegro MicroSystems, a global leader in power and sensor solutions for motion control and energy efficient systems.  3DMAG sensors combine Allegro’s proven Hall-effect technologies to measure magnetic field components along three axes, enabling true 3D sensors with a wide magnetic dynamic range.

New performance and functional safety challenges can be found in advanced driver assistance systems. The A31315 sensor provides the measurement accuracy and performance needed to meet the stringent requirements of safety-critical automotive applications. The flexible 3D Hall front end and configurable signal processing architecture enable highly accurate, absolute linear position and rotary position measurements up to 360 while easing system integration challenges by providing more freedom in sensor placement.  3D magnetometer applications that require all three magnetic components to track complex magnetic movements can be supported by existing Allegro 3DMAG devices.
